3D ARTIST | VFX GENERALIST


 

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

  • 3D modeling, animation, lighting, texturing & creating advanced topology, UVs, and basic character rigging

  • Develop immersive environments: building exteriors and interiors, props, vehicles

  • Create assets used for art direction and project prototypes

  • Set up and optimize lighting

  • Create clean object topology, textures for modeled material using diffuse, specular and normal maps, and use good UV layout distribution to maximize quality

  • Understand and respect the identity and techniques of the project as established by Directors

  • Optimize 3D assets to meet company standards and clients’ needs

  • Work closely with team members to determine new techniques for production

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team of designers to ensure the product vision is conveyed in an impactful and expressive manner

  • Contribute to an evolving design culture and process within the agency

  • Deadline conscious. Be able to manage and organize work to meet all of the deadlines and be able to adapt when changes need to happen

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of production experience using game engines to create real-time Animation/VFX with a supporting body of work

  • 3+ years of experience in Unity/Unreal or equivalent real-time platform

  • Ability to model, texture and animate complex but realistic high-resolution and low- resolution scenes, characters and background items

  • Advanced experience creating photorealistic imagery and animations

  • Exceptional Maya modeling skills with understanding of human and non-humanoid anatomy and a keen eye towards form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regards to modeling

  • Ability to create textures for use with various shaders (specular maps, normal maps, etc.)

  • Excellent eye for lighting, color and detail

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, ZBrush, Adobe AfterEffects or Nuke a plus

  • Experience in any or all of the following things with Unity

    • Shaders and Lighting

    • Rigging 3D models to support bone-based animation

    • Working with animations both bone-/rig-based and not

    • Algorithmic animation

    • Game development (this is not a game dev job, but there is skill overlap)
